The wood on this shelf is beautiful, and the design on the metal brackets and hanger is timeless and simple. The quality is wonderful, and it arrived meticulously packaged with stickers and cards about it being made in India. I'm very happy with the quality and the look of the shelf.My one complaint is that there are two pre-drilled holes in the hanging portion of the bracket, and they don't allow any flexibility in placing your shelf. The holes are drilled 11 inches apart, with the first hole at seven inches in from the left edge of the shelf. As studs are generally 16 or 24 inches apart in U.S. homes, it would be so helpful if they drilled the holes 16 inches apart instead. The holes did not line up with my studs, so one side of the shelf had to be placed into drywall, which is not my preference for something needing to support weight.I am using this in my laundry room and plan to put heavy detergent bottles on it. The shelf comes with drywall anchors, but they are not particularly robust anchors (your local hardware store will have much better options for supporting significant weight). The drywall in my 1930's-era home is crumbly, and I struggled to get this to stay up with the included drywall anchors. If I could have selected where on the back to mount it, I could have put both screws into studs and would feel much better about it. I may end up going back and drilling a new hole in the metal to fix this issue.
