I did a lot of research on floating shelves before I purchased these and I found my other options at this price point to have mediocre reviews at best. These shelves only had 5 reviews at a time, and while 5 stars it was a limited sample size and I was hesitant, but with the others I looked at these seemed to be the best option. Now that I have received them and hung them I am really pleased with the purchase. The other floating shelf I have hangs on to the wall by hardware on the back. These shelves have a support system you hang that includes two metal rods that you then slide the shelf on to and screw together to keep in place. They are quite sturdy. I am a new home owner and have limited experience with a drill, but I found the shelves easy to hang and assemble. I have four of them in my living room so I had to do some measuring to go with my drilling and found the whole process to be easier then I expected. I haven't tested the shelves to see how much weight they can handle, and they have only been up for a few weeks, but my shelves are holding books and so far they seem more then up for the challenge. I would not hesitate to tell anyone looking for floating shelves to buy these. They we both more inexpensive and better quality than I had anticipated. For the price, this shelf is OK and meets my needs but don't expect high quality fit or finish. Structurally, its one of the stronger ones of this type of shelf I've seen. It has a steel bracket that mounts with 8 screws to the wall which is sturdy. Protruding from the shelf are 2 steel rods that mate up with bore holes on the back of the shelf. Finally 2 screws through the bottom of the shelf mate with a hole in each the steel rods. That's more solid than other shelves I've used. The issue is with the overall quality and some improvisation on the install may be required. First, the pre-drilled holes in the bottom of the shelf and the steel rods do not line up, so the screws that secure the shelf to the bracket don't really mate up. It turns out the screws bottoming out on the rods (rather then penetrating the pre-drilled hole) are enough to secure the shelf. For now, its usable, but those 2 screws on the bottom are not fully seated and I will have to go back later and figure out a work-around. Second, there is enough play between the steel rods and the bore holes on the shelf that the shelf droops a little when mounted. To fix this I loosed the bracket from the wall and shimmed the lower edge a bit to compensate for the droop. This was easy and works fine. Third, when finished mine doesn't mount fully flush to the wall. There is a bit of a gap on one side compared to the other. Kind of cheesy. I will try and figure a workaround for this at some point... but I can live with it for this application. Fourth, the painted finish is just OK. Its a bit uneven and thin in a few places. In theory this is an easy shelf to mount and looks just OK, but the manufacturing quality is poor and I would expect any installation will need some improvisation.Looks great and it’s a great price. Very sleek and modern. I have it right next to the door where I come in from the garage and it’s great place to set stuff. The slight edge keeps things from rolling off which has already been helpful. One star missing it because I cannot get the screws to go in the 2 bottom holes which are what holds the shelf in place. Going to have to get a handyman. It’s not the tool issue. I’m not sure why they won’t progress.I bought two of these and they worked great over my toilet! They look sleek and yet are functional for holding large amounts of towels, makeups, bottles, ect. I was surprised with how much these shelves could actually hold until I had them installed. The only negative feedback I have is that the edges of the shelves seemed to be worn a bit when they came out of the box. They needed to be touched up with some whit paint after being installed. For the price this is a nice shelf. I purchased 2 to hang in the bathroom for extra storage. Unfortunately the first 2 were badly damaged. But it was no problem to return them for a refund and purchase 2 more. My 9 year old assisted me and we had the shelves up in no time. Very easy to install.I managed to get it on my wall and stable, however there are 2 screwed that are supposed to go into the bottom of the shelf into holes in the bracket. These do not go in all the way. I have nearly stripped them trying to get them in.I was also prefering black, but I have black wood contact paper I have put on it.It serves its purpose, but if someone gets a view of the bottom it looks tacky with 2 screws sticking out.I purchased two of these shelves to mount above my toilet in my powder room. The mounting hardware for this shelf is very hearty I don't expect it will go anywhere. The floating white shelves arrived well packed and undamaged. They have a substantial appearance once I mounted them and decided they'd be better suited in another room in my home. I give these a five star rating for the quality and the price. I plan on purchasing these in black for my son's bedroom.I ended up returning this because it was too big for my needs (measure first smart people!). It did seem very well made, but I would have preferred a more substantial mounting system for something this heavy. This is to be mounted by hanging it off of two holes on either side in the back.I ordered 3 of this product. 2 arrived very quickly, the other is still on its way since it was sold out (no problem there, understandable). Well constructed, easy to install but very poorly painted. I needed to repaint myself. For being a bit overpriced compared to its competitors, I was expecting the product to be "ready to install" quality.Good looking shelf, but anchor system was wobbly had to reinforce itIts not worth the money. Buy ikea instead.Bolt are loose. Not solid.Well built. Easy install. Solid piece.
