Not too difficult to assemble. It's a little trickier to hold and mark for the wall anchors. I did it by myself, so I'm sure it would have been easier with an extra person to help. I did end up adding a screw into a corner stud, for extra support, as I felt it needed it.These are not very large shelves, but they are interesting and a really cool accent.I bought 2 and had them both put together and hung in about and hour or so. It would have been easier if I had some well-placed studs, (and an extra hand) but I had to use wall anchors, and that slowed the process down a little. Also, our walls were NOT square, so that added some extra problems for me. I used some washers to make up the difference in areas that were drastically different. A little tough to get them in there, but worth it.I had mistakenly ordered the walnut color, first, and had to return for the black color. Very good customer service.
